Catherine Louise Dandelske Walker of Madison, GA, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at her residence at the age of 85.  Born April 10, 1933 in New Haven, CT, she was the daughter of the late Frederick William Dandelske and Emma Margaret Schifferdecker Dandelske.  Catherine graduated from West Haven High School in Connecticut and proudly served her country in the United States Army.  On October 3, 1953, she married Elmer Eugene Walker, Sr. and in April of 1957 they moved to Madison, GA. She worked for Southern Bell but left to raise her four children. After the children were grown she returned to what was then Bell South as a telephone operator and directory assistant and retired in 1995.  The things she enjoyed most were crossword puzzles, needlework and especially being with her family. She was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Athens, GA.
 
In addition to her husband of sixty-five years, Elmer Eugene Walker, Sr. of Madison, GA, she is survived by her children, Elaine Walker of Hull, GA, Teresa Walker of Colbert, GA, Gene Walker of Auburn, GA and Laura Nuckolls of Bogart, GA; two grandchildren, Jessica Nuckolls and Catherine Fields; three great grandchildren, Damien, Lily and Amelia Nuckolls; a number of other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her only brother, Freddy Dandelske.

A service will be held at a later date.  The family requests that any memorials be made to the Humane Society of your choice.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
