Carolyn Gladys Gibbs Cooper, 98, of Greensboro, Georgia died Monday, February 5, 2007 at Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital. Born October 28, 1908 in Irwin County, Georgia she was the daughter of the late Azor Oscar Gibbs and Annie Lillian Brown Gibbs. She attended Irwin County Schools. She was a homemaker and seamstress and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barnesville, GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Player Cooper. She is survived by three daughters, Vivian Ferland and husband Tony of Greensboro, GA, Laverne Aiken and husband Tom of Barnesville, GA and Lucy Lathrope and husband Ross of Aiken, SC; two sons, Thomas Brian Cooper of Aiken, SC and Seth Lucius Cooper and wife Debbie of Smyrna, NC; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro with Rev. Dr. James Choomack, Jr. officiating. Interment will be Friday, February 9, 2007 at 12 noon at Turner Church Cemetery in Enigma, GA. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service on Thursday.
