Carol June Wheat Harrison

Carol June Wheat Harrison, age 73, of White Plains, GA  died Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Athens Regional Medical Center.  Born on April 18, 1942 in Independence, LA she was the daughter of the late John Jack Wheat and Josephine Hano Wheat.  She graduated from Montgomery High School in Louisiana in 1960 and attended Northwestern State University. When John F. Kennedy was President she volunteered in the Peace Corp serving in Brazil.  She also served as a medic/nurse in the United States Army as an LPN. On November 26, 1969 she married Donnie Aaron Harrison, Sr.  They moved to White Plains from Sparta, GA in 1987.  Most of her life she was a homemaker raising her four children. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and loved animals.  Carol was a survivor of breast cancer.
    
Survivors in addition to her husband, Donnie Harrison of White Plains, GA, include three sons, Donnie Aaron Harrison, Jr. (Teresa) of Union Point, GA, James Eddie Harrison of White Plains, GA and Michael Paul Harrison of White Plains, GA; daughter, Deborah Alice Harrison Anthony (Mark) of Jefferson, GA; grandchildren, Charlie Lynn Harrison, Donnie Aaron Harrison III, Lauren Ellis, Mason Anthony, Brady Anthony and Wylie Preston Harrison; sister, Sue Arnold; brother, Floyd Wheat; other relatives and many friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Alton Wheat, Harry Wheat, Jake Wheat, Kenneth Wheat, Margie Walker, Ray Wheat and Hallie Steelman.
