Carl Howard Hadden

Carl Howard Hadden, age 78, of Greensboro, GA, died Friday, February 17, 2017 at his home with his family.  Born August 6, 1938 he was the son of Lula Mae Hollifield Hadden of Greensboro, GA and the late Marshall Floyd Hadden. His family moved from Hiawassee, GA to Greensboro, GA in 1945.  Howard graduated from Greensboro High School in the class of 1957. On October 12, 1960 he married the former Barbara Griffin and most recently they celebrated their fifty sixth wedding anniversary. Howard worked as an EMT under Omer Cook and was the first paramedic in Greene County. He also served his community as a volunteer fireman for the Greensboro Fire Department for over thirty years. For more than twenty years he worked for Novelis Corp in Greensboro as a casting operator. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Greshamville.  Howard always enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his mother, Lula Hadden of Greensboro, GA, survivors include his wife Barbara Hadden of Greensboro, GA; daughter, Rhonda Tollison and her husband Robert of Milledgeville, GA; grandsons, Bradley Towe and his wife Allison and children Kayla, Peyton and R.J. of Toomsboro, GA and Brandon Towe and and his girlfriend, Jacqueline and children, Elizabeth, Abel and Aubrey of Milledgeville, GA; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Mildred Elsie.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, 1400 Farmington Road, Madison, GA 30650 with Rev. Mike Pritchett officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Bradley Towe, Brandon Towe, Jon Dyar, Danny Duvall, Charles Crumbley, and Richard Curtis.  Honorary pallbearers will be Alvin Dowdy, Fred Cook, Bobby Duvall, members of the Greensboro Fire Department, and the deacons of the New Hope Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday night at McCommons Funeral Home.  The family requests that any memorials be made to the New Hope Baptist Church, 1400 Farmington Road, Madison, GA 30650 or the Greensboro Fire Department, 1110 Siloam Road, Greensboro, GA 30642.
