Betty Tucker Obituary

Martha Betty Bishop Tucker, 92, of Greensboro, GA formerly of Kentucky, died Thursday, November 5, 2009 at St. Mary''s Hospice House in Bogart, GA. Betty was born on July 12, 1917 in Clark County, Kentucky to the late Herbert Bishop and Beulah Combs Bishop. She attended Transylvania College in Lexington, KY. Mrs. Tucker was an Administrative Assistant for the General Service Administration in Atlanta, GA. She loved playing bridge, interior decorating and writing. She was a member of Mt. Paran Church of God in Atlanta, but while living in Greensboro attended Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church.

Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Tucker and siblings, Roxie Betterton, Dorothy Carr Lawrence and Tom Bishop. She is survived by three daughters, Pamela Jean Tucker Lundy and husband Gene of Greensboro, GA, Ellen Ray Tucker Tufts of Greensboro, GA and Roxie Diane Tucker Garrison and husband Cliff of Buford, GA; a niece, Dr. Donna Gail Carr; six grandchildren, Todd Wood, Jeff Wood, Dale Lundy, Erin Lundy, Thom Tufts and Rhea Jeanne Starnes; nine great grandchildren, Isabella Tufts, Jessica Wood, Ansley Wood, Kendall Wood, Jeffrey Wood, Gaines Wood, Ellie Lundy, Gatlin Lundy and baby Tufts on the way; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 6, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Lee Cemetery in Morehead, Kentucky. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church, 2830 Highway 15 South, Greensboro, GA 30642. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
