Betty Batchelor Mize

Betty Batchelor Mize, age 64, of Greensboro, Georgia, died Thursday, October 6, 2005 at Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital. Born in Graham County, NC on January 4, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Calvin Batchelor and Carrie Ellen Davis Batchelor. When she was a child her family moved to Eatonton and she graduated from Putnam County High School. During her working career she was an inspector at Universal Rundle for thirty-two years. She was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church of Union Point where she was head of the nursery. Her favorite pastime was camping with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of forty-two years, Hubert Mize of Greensboro, GA; a daughter, Beth M. McCommons and husband Ross "Red Hoss" of the Veazey Community; two sons, Scott Mize and wife Tammy of Union Point, GA and Kevin Mize and wife Brandy of Eatonton, GA; five sisters, Christine Jackson and husband Carl of Eatonton, GA, June Greenway and husband Buddy of Madison, GA, Sharon Wilson and husband William of Eatonton, GA, Lynn Johns and husband Robby of Eatonton, GA and Wanda Johnson of Eatonton, GA; four brothers, Charles Batchelor of Eatonton, GA, Johnny Batchelor and wife Linda of Eatonton, GA, Jimmy Batchelor and wife Janet of Eatonton, GA and Butch Batchelor and wife Nell of Eatonton, GA; four grandchildren, Amber McCommons, Shaun McCommons, Jordan Mize and Haley Mize; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Batchelor.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Union Point, GA with Rev. Colin Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are John Osborne, Millard Mize, Nathan Jenkins, Jason Batchelor, Mike Nuhfer and Dennis Greenway. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Robinson, Roy Nation, Gerald Strozier, Don Ellis, Skipper Mize, Cliff Mize, Allen Johnson, Tommy Johnson, Carl Jackson and Johnny Johnson. The family requests that any memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605.
