Betty June Stewart Jones

Betty June Stewart Jones of White Plains, GA passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at her home with loved ones.  Born in Washington, GA on July 3, 1944, Betty was the only child of the late Harry Edward Stewart and Nina Mae Beal Stewart. She attended school in White Plains and Siloam and graduated from Greensboro High School in 1962. Betty married Walter Russell Jones on June 8, 1962.  For many years she was the office manager for Dr. Bo and Dr. Ruby Cheves in Greensboro and also worked at Minnie G. Boswell Hospital in the billing office. She was a member of Siloam Methodist Church. Reading and playing the piano were her favorite pastimes.

Survivors in addition to her husband, Walter Jones of White Plains, GA include a daughter, Sheryl Gurley and husband Thomas of McDonough, GA; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Gurley and Kristin Gurley; a number of other relatives and friends.
 
Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Micah Wright officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Ed Ogletree, David Ogletree and Ricky Beal.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
