Betty Ann Moore Corry, age 68, of Greensboro, Georgia died Saturday, January 17, 2004 at Athens Regional Medical Center. One of six children, she was born in Greene County on July 24, 1935 to the late Jack Burnette Moore and Edna Veronia Haack Moore. A lifelong resident of Greene County, she graduated from Greensboro High School in 1953 and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church before joining the First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro. She was a receptionist for Dr. H.A. Thornton and later for Drs. Bo and Ruby Cheves. She was a member of the Presbyterian Women PC (USA), Garden Club and Nathanael Greene Academy Grandparents Club.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence A. B. "Bill" Corry Sr.; two daughters, Susan Spearman of Greensboro, GA and Jill Jackson and husband Larry of Conyers, GA; two sons, Larry Corry and wife Tamie of Greensboro, GA and Eric Corry and wife Sara Ann of Sacramento, CA; a sister, Barbara Jean Patton of the Macedonia Community; and nine grandchildren, Corry Spearman, Emmy Corry, Merrie Hayes, Ella Corry, Margaret Corry, Chip Spearman, Win Corry, Nick Hayes and Sam Corry. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Moore Jr., Charles Moore, Norman Moore and Leroy Moore.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 19, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro with the Rev. Dr. Ford G''Segner officiating. Interment will follow at Greensboro City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Chip Spearman, Win Corry, Bob Dolvin, Bobby Dolvin, Johnny Patton, Erwin Gettys, Dr. Bo Cheves and Matt Boswell. Deeta McCommons and Nick Hayes will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family requests that any memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 117 S. Main Street, Greensboro, GA 30642.
