Bernice Rita Barry Wright

Bernice Rita Wright passed away Sunday, April 27, 2008 at age 95. She was born in Shady Valley, TN on October 24, 1912 to the late Elbert Washington Barry and Minnie Stout Barry. She moved to New Jersey in 1947 where she resided until November of 2005 when she moved to Camden, AR. In March of 2006 she moved to Georgia where she was a resident at Willow Run Retirement Home in Greensboro from May of 2006 until her death. Mrs. Wright was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and a member of Princeton Church of Christ in Princeton, New Jersey.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Minnie K. Powell, two brothers, M. L. Barry and Dellon Barry; a grandson, Richard Curles; and a great grandson, Landon Michael Allen. Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Herbert D. Wright of Greensboro, GA; five children, Daphne L. Rose and husband Charles of Richmond, VA, Lucille Ryals of White Plains, GA, Kent B. Wright and wife Sherry of Newport Beach, CA, Linda A. Moore of Camden, AR and Anna R. Thompson and husband Dewitt of Bay Minette, AL; sister, Iva (Judy) Farris of Morristown, TN; nine grandchildren: Jim Rose and wife Valerie of Anderson, SC, Sandy Rose of Anderson, SC, Michael Rose and wife Paula of Mechanicsville, VA, Robert Rose and wife Becky of Mechanicsville, VA, Jeannie Price and husband David of White Plains, GA, Steve Durden of White Plains, GA, Catherine M. Goodnight and husband Jeff of Republic, MO, Danny Allen and wife Marcia of Greenville, AL and Darlene Allen of Mobile, AL; eight great grandchildren: Holly Rose, Christina Rose, Carlee Rose and Chelsea Rose of Mechanicsville, VA, Jennifer M. Price of Clayton, GA, Holly C. Price of White Plains, GA, and Jessica Durden and John Steven Durden of Haddock, GA; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at McCommons Chapel with Minister Ray White officiating. The family will receive friends after the service. Services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Princeton Church of Christ, 33 River Road, Princeton, New Jersey with Rev. Bruce Wadzeck officiating. Interment will follow at Princeton Memorial Park in Robbinsville, NJ. Serving as pallbearers are Booker Jones, Gordon Malick, Mark Beckett, Dan Rich, Paul Lawson and William Searing. Honorary pallbearers are Dennis Morley, Ed Davies and Kent Wright.
