Bernice Meadows Taylor

Bernice Meadows Taylor, age 89, of Union Point, Georgia died Thursday, February 17, 2011 at St. Mary''s Hospice in Bogart, GA. Born on September 8, 1921 in Taliaferro County, she was the daughter of the late William Edgar Meadows and Flora Fanning Meadows. She graduated from Alexander H. Stephens Institute in Crawfordville. She was a seamstress at Royal Manufacturing in Washington and Crawfordville, GA. She was very talented in sewing and crocheting. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Carter''s Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rollin D. Taylor in May of 1969; a son, James David Taylor in January of 1964; and a sister, Katherine Echols. She is survived by a daughter, Ann T. Callaway and husband Bill of Union Point, GA; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Carter''s Grove Baptist Church, 6080 Lexington Road NW, Rayle, GA 30660 with Rev. Brian George and Rev. Thompson Holloman officiating. Interment services will follow in the Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Glenn Taylor, Mike Griffith, Joey Griffith, Wayne Poss, Wayne Rutherford and Thomas Fanning. Honorary pallbearers are Dowell Stewart, John Chapman and Emory Hubbard. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday night at Callaway Funeral Home.
