Benjamin Franklin Wood, Jr., 81, formerly of Greensboro, NC and Greensboro, GA went home to be with our Lord in heaven Tuesday evening May 20, 2008, at Saint Mary''s Hospice House in Bogart, GA.

Crypt side services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday May 24, 2008 at the New Mausoleum Chapel at Westminster Gardens with O. Reid Moseley, III officiating.

Mr. Wood was born in Winston-Salem on October 21, 1926 the son of Benjamin F. Wood, Sr. and Leone McDaniel Wood. Ben was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Roanoke, VA and graduated from Virginia Tech in 1949 with a B.A. Degree in Business Administration While attending Tech he was a member of The Varsity Football Team. He attended Faith Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, NC and retired from Citicorp in Roanoke, VA. Ben served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was proud of service in the South Pacific.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Rhodes Wood, of Crawfordville, GA and his parents.

Mr. Wood is survived by, two daughters, Lisa Ann Clemmons and husband John of Crawfordville, GA and Norma E. Wood of CA; three sons, Samuel Heath Wood and wife Donna of Greensboro, GA, Benjamin Franklin Wood III of Roanoke, VA and Eric Wood of Roanoke, VA; his sister, Betty Moseley Garrison and husband G. Glen of Greensboro, NC; seven grandchildren, John, Nick, Nina and Joyce Clemmons and Benjamin, Caleb and Eli Wood.

There will be no formal visitation. Online condolences may be sent to www.forbisanddick.com. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to, Saint Mary''s Hospice House, 1660 Jennings Mill Road, Bogart, GA 30622.
