Barbara Estelle (Deen) Winterrowd

Barbara Estelle Deen Winterrowd, 81, of White Plains, GA died Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle, GA. She was the wife of the late John Winterrowd and the daughter of the late Marvin Estell Deen and Frances Olivia Luna Deen. Barbara was born on December 13, 1935 in Montgomery, AL. She attended R. E. Lee High School in Thomaston, GA.  Her working career began at Russell Stovers Candies and then she worked for Days Inn Hotel.  After moving to Greene County she worked for Keystone which later became Pioneer Plastics Corp. Gardening and taking care of animals were her favorite pastimes.  She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband John Francis Winterrowd in 1995.  Survivors include her children, Robert Winterrowd (Cheryl) of Braselton, GA, Fran Wilcox (Tom) of Social Circle, GA, Pam Winterrowd (Mike) of Cumming, GA, Sonya Winterrowd (Rick) of Mulberry, Fl, Toni Lynn (Mike) of Greensboro, GA, Melinda Merritt (Darrell) of the Liberty Community in White Plains, GA and Bob Stephens (Kathy) of Ellijay, GA; brothers, Robert (Buddy) Deen and Rusty Deen; sister Mary Elizabeth Deen Dean; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.  

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenview Cemetery with Rev. Tom Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers are grandsons: John Stephens, Jason Hutchings, Brian Hutchings, Jacob Wilcox, Josh Wilcox, Christopher Winterrowd and Grant Morgan. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home.  If desired make a donation to the cancer fund of your choice in honor of Barbara’s memory.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
