Barbara Ann Reese O’Neal

Barbara Ann Reese O’Neal, age 62, of Siloam, Georgia, died Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Gentiva Hospice in Athens, GA.  Born in Greensboro on October 11, 1952, she was the daughter of John Augustus Reese and Doris Elizabeth Nunn Reese. She grew up in Crawfordville, GA, graduated from John  Hancock Academy in Sparta, GA and attended technical school in Atlanta as a Lab Technician. She married Terry O’Neal on August 8, 1971.  Barbara retired  in 2010 from the Greene County Extension Office, where she was the Office Manager for twenty-five years.  Barbara was a member of the Siloam Baptist Church and loved being a homemaker, taking care of her family and growing flowers.

In addition to her husband, Terry O’Neal of Siloam, GA, she is survived by a daughter, Angie O’Neal of Lawrenceville, GA; a son, T. J. O’Neal and his wife Catie and their daughter Carly of Greensboro, GA; brother, Johnny Reese and his wife Susan of Camak, GA; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Siloam Baptist Church, 1051 Church Street, Siloam, GA 30665 with Rev. James Bowen and Rev. Bert Mathews officiating. Interment will follow in the Siloam Cemetery, Church Street, Siloam, GA 30665.  Serving as pallbearers are Len Dolvin, Jay Reese, Mike O’Neal, Bill Whittaker, Terry Watkins and Jimmy Walker. The family requests that any memorials be made to Siloam Baptist Church, 1051 Church Street, Siloam, Georgia  30665. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
