Barbara Ann Bryan Meeks, of Greensboro, GA, died Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Athens Regional Medical Center at the age of 66. Born on March 31, 1948 in Greensboro, GA, Ann was the daughter of the late James Albert Bryan and Dorothy Louise German Bryan.  In 1966 she graduated from Greene County High School and on December 16, 1973 she married  Johnnie Coleman Meeks, Jr. of Union Point, GA.  Ann worked for Channell’s Grocery Store for a while, but most of her life she was a homemaker.  She enjoyed soap opera’s, Elvis Presley music, embroidery and cooking.  She was a member of Walker United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Meeks in May of 2012. Survivors include a daughter, Donna Lynn Thomas and husband Andrew of Greensboro, GA; son, James Coleman “Jimmy” Meeks of Greensboro, GA; sister, Jane Bryan Morgan and husband Charles of White Plains, GA; nephew, Craig Morgan; sisters-in-law, Mary Brown and Patricia Nation; other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held, Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Robert Robinson officiating.  Serving as pallbearers are Craig Morgan, Lonnie Brown, Lindsay Nation and Derrick Nation.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at McCommons Funeral Home.  The family requests that any memorials be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, 3343 Peachtree Road, NE, #M20, Atlanta, GA  30326.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
