Audrey Alexander Obituary

Audrey DeLoach Alexander, age 81, of Buckhead, GA, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at Madison Health and Rehab. Born November 19, 1923 in Morgan County she was a lifelong resident of Buckhead, GA. She was the youngest and last of thirteen siblings born to the late George Washington DeLoach and Frances Lenorah Smith DeLoach. She attended school in Buckhead and later married Wayne Sylvester Alexander on February 24, 1939. During the fifties and sixties she worked for Morgan County Sewing Plant in Madison, GA. Mrs. Alexander was a member of Eastern Star in Madison and a member of Buckhead Baptist Church. A  She is survived by a daughter, Lola Gibson and husband George of Greensboro, GA; a son, Charles Wayne Alexander and wife Carmen of Buckhead, GA; five grandchildren, Rhonda Alexander, Jimmy and Cheryl Alexander, Laura and Scott Burden, Tammy and Chris Johnson and Debra and Todd Barber; nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Sylvester Alexander; and two sons, John Loring Alexander and Joe Marshall Alexander.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Buckhead Baptist Church with Rev. MaCrae Olinger and Rev. Steve Wallace officiating. Interment will follow at Swords Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Jack Shepherd, Scott Burden, Todd Barber, Frank Paschall, Joe Ransom and Claude Alford. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home.
