Ann Thompson Rutherford
Ann Thompson Rutherford of Eatonton, GA passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was 76. Born February 21, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Alton Wayne and Mary Ennis Osborne Thompson. She attended Winthrop College in Rock Hill, SC. For eight years she was the owner of Thompson Insurance Agency and later owned and operated Plantation Play School for eight years. In 1988 she moved from Stone Mountain to Eatonton and worked for a while at Blackwell Furniture Company. She was a member of Walker United Methodist Church of Greensboro. Ann was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed being with her family, fishing and hunting.
Ann is survived by her two daughters, Sally Hannah and husband Wayne of Eatonton, GA and Mary Rebecca “Becky” Long and husband Steve of Social Circle, GA; three grandchildren, Atlanta Marie Long Mosley, Andrew Tyler Bombich and Matthew Ryan Bombich; two great grandchildren, Rylee Cooper Long and Kylee Marie Mosley; a number of other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Walker United Methodist Church, 2730 Walker Church Road, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. John Pike officiating. Interment will follow at Walker United Methodist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Steve Long, Wayne Hannah, Tyler Bombich, Scott Pittochelli, James Parker and Justin Mosley. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until time for the service, Monday at Walker United Methodist Church. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
