Ana Blankenship Obituary

Ana Sylvia Orozco Blankenship, 63, of White Plains, Georgia died Sunday, December 11, 2005 at St. Mary''s Hospital in Athens. She was born in El Salvador in Central America on June 11, 1942, the daughter of the late Rafael Orozco and Lucila J. Cordoba Orozco. She attended a private school in New York and graduated from St. Rose Academy in San Francisco. Shortly after graduation she became a United States citizen and later received an Associate Degree from the College of Charleston in South Carolina. She was a homemaker and was of the Catholic Faith. Shopping, decorating, antiques, ceramics and collecting were some of her favorite things and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Robert D. Blankenship, Sr., of White Plains, GA; four daughters, Ivonne Studds of Huntsville, AL, E. Carmen Blankenship of Baltimore, MD, Sylvia Elena Gaidowski of Milledgeville, GA and Chloe Haidet and husband Douglas of Atlanta, GA; four sons, James Blankenship and wife Trina of White Plains, GA, Luis Blankenship of Nashville, TN, Joe Blankenship and wife Jennifer of Huntsville, AL and Robert Blankenship Jr. and wife Amy of White Plains, GA; a sister, Ivonne Orozco of Phoenix, AZ; two brothers, Leopoldo Herrera of New York, NY and Bernard Herrera of Virginia; thirteen grandchildren, Michael and wife Meredith, Ryan, Stephanie and husband Ryan, Brittany, Joel, Caleb, Brandon, CloAna, Celina, Daniel, Kevin, Alyssa and Samantha; one great grandchild, Madilyn; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at White Plains Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are James Blankenship, Joe Blankenship, Robert Blankenship Jr., Ryan Studds, Brandon Blankenship and Daniel Blankenship. Honorary pallbearers are William "H. B." Greer, Douglas Haidet and Charles Caddell. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
