Albert Coe McNair, Sr.

Albert Coe McNair, Sr., age 70, of Greensboro, GA, died Friday, September 12, 2014 at his residence. Born in Siloam, GA on April 27, 1944, he was the son of the late Rance Cicero McNair and Rhoda Belle Newsome McNair.  He attended school in Union Point, GA and entered the United States Army serving his country for three years.  While in Germany he met Annaliese Gerst and they married May 18, 1964.  For twenty-one years he worked as a forester for Georgia Kraft which later became International Paper Board.  Albert was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Greensboro. His greatest joys were fishing, hunting, reading westerns and hosting barbecue and fish fry gatherings with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Annaliese Gerst McNair, of Greensboro, GA, two daughters, Susi Stewart and son-in-law, Ricky of Madison, GA and Angela Bryant and son-in-law,Terrell of Greensboro, GA; a son, Albert Coe McNair, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Pam of Watkinsville, GA; sister, Sara Barfield of Canon, GA; and brother, James Henry “Jimmy” McNair and sister-in-law, Carolyn of Vidalia, GA; sister-in-law, Joanne McNair; brother-in-law, Don Sanders; grandchildren, Brandi Olsen, Robert Olsen, Brittany Stewart, Julie Bryant, Candy Bryant, Lacy Bryant, Hannah McNair and Ellen McNair; great grandchildren, E. J. Burke, James Martin, Greyson Martin, Leeland Willis, Bradley Colt Willis and two on the way.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Oliver McNair; and three sisters, Pauline Lavender, and twin sisters, Madeline McNair and Jodene Sanders.
 
Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 3981 Union Point Highway, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Bobby Tomlin and Rev. Robert Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.  Interment with military honors will follow in the Siloam Cemetery, Church Street, Siloam, GA 30665. Serving as pallbearers are, Jackie McNair Jr., Jamie McNair, Billy Mote, Jim McNair, Paul McNair and Jeff Smith.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Morris, Derrick Nursey, Terrell Bryant, Edward McNair, Robert Olsen and Boyd McNair.  Flowers are welcome or any donations may be made to John Paul II Medical Research Institute, 540 E.
