William Moore Obituary

William Allison “Bill” Moore, age 83, of Greensboro, died Saturday, March 16, 2024 at The Glen at Lake Oconee Village.  He was born on August 20, 1940 in Newborn, GA to the late William Aubrey Moore and Mary Em Florence Moore.  Bill graduated from Morgan County High School in 1958 and University of Georgia in 1962.  From 1962 - 1970, he was an active duty officer in the US Navy with many tours including Vietnam.  He continued his service in the Naval Reserve until 1984 retiring with the rank of Captain.  The majority of his civilian career was spent as the Director of Georgia Milk Producers, Inc.  Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greensboro, GA. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.  He was a loving husband and father and will be missed.

Survivors include his son Mark T. Moore and wife Michelle of Dunwoody, GA; daughter, Tamara Gianoli of Duluth, GA; and grandchildren, Jackson, Parker, and Mason Moore all of Dunwoody, GA. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra Theiss Moore and his wife Asenath “Bubs” Moore.

A private interment will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 at Pennington Methodist Church Cemetery in Newborn, GA with a memorial service held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 12 noon at Pennington Methodist Church, 1160 Broughton Road, Newborn, GA 30056.  Elder Corneilus Williams will officiate.
