Roy was a great friend and neighbor during our growing up years on our respective farms.  We hunted together and were pals for many years.  Adulthood and life's changing seasons caused us to go separate ways, but we could always recall those wonderful years of friendship whenever we saw each other.  My friend will be greatly missed and I pray God's grace and comfort for Roy's family.

Roy Otis and I grew up together in Greene County although we did not become the best of friends until high school. In college at the UGA, we lived in the same apartment complex known as Ms. Speers.  It was a joyous time in our lives and we created lifelong memories together.  He was always the same old "Roy Otis" when he became well known in the landscaping business...he never changed.  Hearing of his loss is a big loss of a great lifelong friend.  His good deeds, affectionate smile will long be remembered among his friends.  If Tonie gets this message, please let me know how to reach you so we can connect and remember some of our good times together.  They were special.  Love to the family, Ed "Slick" Stone.

How saddened we were to hear of Roy Otis's passing!  I shall always be thankful that Roy Otis's mother was my Principal when I attended and graduated from the seventh grade at White Plains School.  Mrs. Ashley, also, taught me in the sixth and seventh grade.  During part of these years, Roy Otis was a student there, also.  He was greatly loved by his mother and father.  He was a person of intelligence and integrity, always anxious to help, whose life and career were an inspiration to us all.  He earned the respect of all who came in contact with him.
Our hearts are with you at this most difficult of times.  You have our deepest sympathy.

As Postmaster of White Plains since 1999 I only knew of Mr Roy through local stories that I had heard until after his retirement when he began frequenting the Post Office.  Although he had beautiful penmanship he often asked me to address his correspondence which I gladly did-----something that could only be done in a small rural Post Office.  I'm sure many wondered what was so special about White Plains to Mr. Roy but you only had to be around him a short time to realize how much he loved his hometown, the community and its people.  He was known world wide for his accomplishments and he will be missed by many especially those in his beloved White Plains!!

We are so sorry about your dear loss.  May God's wonderful promises of our enemy death, soon to be destroyed forever, and being reunited again with our loved ones, soothe your hearts in the days ahead (Isaiah 25:8; 26:8).

We're so sorry for your loss!  Roy was one of a kind and a leader in the landscape industry.  He expected the "Best" from those he worked with and in turn he was a Loyal Advisor/friend.  We'll remember Roy for his great stories and several great fishing trips we shared.   God Bless your family!

"You can take a boy out of the country but you can't take the country out of a boy."  Roy moved to the big city but missed his country life and we were so glad that he returned back to White Plains. I will always remember the good times we had at the Farm. Roy was a part of our family. He was always welcomed at our Sunday dinners. Our friend will be truly missed and we will be praying for his family.

We were shocked and sad to hear the loss of Roy.  We sure wish we could be there to say goodbye to our buddy.  We had just spoke to him last week, when he told us about his accident.  Roy played a large role and influence in our lives and music over the past 10 years.  He was a true inspiration to all those whose lives he had a chance to be a part of.  We treasure the time that we had with Roy at his farm in White Plains.  We truly consider that one of our favorite places and he was one of our favorite people.  From swatting bumble bees on the front porch to climbing on his beloved tractors, and listening to his stories, he was a treasure.  And as Roy put it, "unbelievable" to be a friend to him.
As it said, "he was one hell of a nice guy" and will forever be missed! David and Terri Church
