I knew BJ for years at UGA where I retired in 1995. We used to meet often at the westside Dairy Queen in Athens for lunches on Fridays with many Phys ED friends. BJ kept us all in stitches during our luncheons with his stories of his Dawgs and Hawgs! He was always a very considerate, kind and courteous person who was liked by everyone. Rest well, old friend. I wish for you a wonderful welcome in Heaven and a set of brand new golf clubs that you can use to your advantage on Heaven's course! Pat Scott

BJ was a great person. He was a friend to all who met him. He knew no strangers. We feel privileged to have known him during the past 7 years at Lake Oconee. Please accept our condolences.

BJ was my volleyball and racquetball coach in the 80's at UGA. We developed a friendship and have exchanged Christmas Cards every year since I graduated. The last time I saw BJ he came by my house and spent a little time, meeting my daughters who then were toddlers, and sharing his warm and genuine way with us. I am deeply saddened that I cannot make the service, and the world will not be as bright without his sideways smile and twinkling eyes. My deepest sympathy to the family.

We had the opportunity to participate in Mr BJ's medical care in the past. During that time, we all became very fond of him and loved him dearly. We will truly miss him, his smile, stories, and charismatic personality.

What a great and loving guy. We will really miss Doc. He was one of a kind and a very special person to me and many others. Did not know Doc had passed away until someone told me recently.
