My deepest sympathy with the loss of this dedicated man. I knew Janet and her children through Campfire. I lost my dad recently and know how painful it can be. Take care of yourself. Fondly, Daryl

I love this photograph of Mr. Bieberstein. He doesn't look much different than when I met him in 1968 (?), and it's how I will always remember him. He was my best friend's dad, and so from second grade on, I held him as an authority figure. He was for most of the kids in our neighborhood. I don't think there was a one of us who wasn't a little awe-struck by him. As the coach of our local pool's swim team, he was a major presence for all of us -- and not just those on the team. He was a man who commanded respect, not just with firmness, but also with affection. To me, he was a little bit larger than life. Jaci, my heart breaks for you and Janet and your mom. Your dad was a man well loved by many, but loved beyond bounds by his family. I pray for God to give you all strength and comfort. Love, Rhonda

My memories of John date back to the days of Camp Fire events when Jennifer and Christopher were in elementary school and Janet led a Camp Fire club. John was so supportive of Camp Fire events, large and small, and such an involved Board member. I will always remember John as a kind, giving and caring man who gave much to his family and his community. May God's hand be on you during this difficult time. Please know that my prayers are with y'all and that I regret being unable to be with you in person as you mark the passing of a life lived in compassion and love. With much affection, Kathleen.

Mary and family; I am so sorry for your loss, as well as missing a great friend. The times simply sitting in the front yard at the cabin and talking with John and yourself we will miss personally. Over the last few years, with the ailments John had, I have witnessed few people who were courageous enough to deal with some of the pain John had to bear as he did with the dignity he showed. His attitude was always positive, although I knew what he was going through. I knew it was with his faith he was able to see the world in a disposition he had. I miss my friend.

Dear Mary and family, I didn't know John very long, but I will always remember him. He never let his face belie the pain he was in and he never had a bad word about anything or anyone. He truly did live life to the fullest. He was a blessing and inspiration to me, because I knew he really cared when he asked me "how are you?" Cedric and I will miss him terribly. Love, Cheri and Cedric Salisbury
