Betty and I were first cousins, her mother and my mother (Ethel Louise Wilson Morton) were sisters. That was an easy family to love--and still is. While we were growing up, Betty and I were the closest of friends when we would gather at our grandparents' house in Union Point. I remember one such funny incident that we shared: she tried her best to teach me how to dance, became frustrated, and gave up--much to my appreciation! She and her family lived with me for a while before they bought a house nearby in Indian Springs, GA. She will be missed; our condolences are expressed to the four children, her sister Kathy, and her grandchildren. May God in His infinite wisdom grant them that perfect peace. With love, Tom Morton

To the Bassett Family, So sorry to learn about the lost of your Dear Loved One, Betty. Please know that so many people share your grief with you to help you through this difficult time of sorrow. Please accept my deepest sympathy as we await the time when Christ Jesus will awaken all of those who have fallen asleep in death, including Betty. (John 11:41-44)
