Your mother and I became close friends the last couple of years. She was a remarkable lady who taught us all how to fight the good fight with grace and style. She will be terribly missed by her friends at Greensboro Presbyterian. My prayers are with you all having lost two such remarkable people in less than a year. I wish I could have seen their heavenly reunion!

My deepest regards to the family. Jean was a person with a big heart full of love for all around her. Was privileged to know her for a period when our lives entertwined. She left a legacy of love that touched many lives!

What a wonderful lady! I only knew you through working at NGA, and being able to witness the beautiful Christmas program tradition started by you and Mr. Abell. Now you will be with him for eternity.God bless your family.

To the Family of Mrs. Abell, My sympathies and prayers for you all. I met Mr. & Mrs. Abell in Portales, NM my first year as a music therapy student. She was a remarkable woman, and I learned much from her. She was not satisfied to just be our professor, but took us under her wing and mothered us with great love and affection. She will be missed. God's blessing and peace be with you all in your time of grief. Carmen Bolin

Don & I feel so very priviledged to have known Jean! She was a remarkable lady & a real lady she was!!! I personally enjoyed playing together with her on the organ & me on the piano several times. We will certainly miss Jean but will remember all the good times with her. We know that Marshall has greeted her with open arms! Gayle & Don Brice

Mrs. Jean was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever known. She had such a gentle spirit. I have been blessed to have known and worked with both Mr. and Mrs. Abell at NGA.

God blessed us when he brought both Jean and Marshall Abell into our lives during their time in Victoria, TX. I had the privilege of working with Jean on her Very Special Arts Committee. Stefan was one of Jean's "bell choir guys" from VISD's special education classes, the recipient of her loving direction during Music Therapy. (When I sent her a photo of him taken at his first/only job, ringing bells for the Salvation Army in 2000, I heard her delightful shriek's all the way from Georgia. The miles separated us, but luckily we had the USPO,(Marshall's cherished Christmas poems) "Ma Bell" and, later, e-mail to keep us close. Jean (and Marshall) remain in our hearts...much Love and Blessings to all who mourn their departure from this life -- Joy for them who are with our Father for eternity.
