James Allen Ogletree

James Allen Ogletree, age 69, of Union Point, GA, died at Boswell Parker Nursing Home in Greensboro, GA on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.  James was born in Washington, GA on November 27, 1948 to the late William Howard Ogletree and Doris Beal Ogletree.  In 1966 he graduated from Greene County High School and continued his education at Athens Technical School in Athens, GA. James served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and was stationed in Korea.  His working career began at Athens Chevrolet, then Cook’s Chevrolet and he later retired from Jimmy Britt Chevrolet in Greensboro in 2013.  He enjoyed drag races, tractor pulls, boat races, NASCAR and hunting squirrels.  After retirement he enjoyed his time with family and friends.

James is survived by four brothers, Richard Edward Ogletree of Union Point, GA, David Ogletree of Washington, GA, Ralph Ogletree of El Paso, TX and Gene Ogletree of Swainsboro, GA; many other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Wayne Usry Officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home.  Serving as pallbearers are Sidney Kelly, Delane Arnold, Wayne Jackson, Ben Brake, Joel Gunn and Gary Usry.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. We are sorry Cecil's health will not allow us to make the trip to the service. I'll always remember how faithful James Allen was to his parents. He is with them now. God bless all the family. You will be in our prayers.
