It was good to know you, Mr. Hughes! Thank you for adopting Noah and taking him into your home; I know you did him a great kindness, though it may take some time for the seeds you planted to bear fruit. Such is the burden of parents and mentors, often we won't live to see the results of the good we do.

Your kindness and hospitality will be greatly missed! However, we rejoice that you are reunited with Gloria, and all your family and friends who left this world ahead of you! We will keep those you left behind in our prayers, for if those of us who knew you only a little while miss you badly, we can only imagine the loss they feel.

Godspeed, my friend.

My husband, Edward, and I are so saddened to hear of Tom's passing. What a special, special man he was and we feel honored to have known him if only for a short time. His generosity and wisdom he shared with young adults will be missed. I pray they will remember the lessons he shared and encouragement he gave. Edward and I will cherish the memories, conversations & laughter we shared ... We will raise a glass of wine to you often, Mr. Hughes! Prayers for his family - God Bless.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Tom's passing. He was our dear friend and my fraternity brother since 1956. Tom will be greatly missed by all who knew him: Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity brothers, students who Tom had mentored, and all of the others whose lives he had touched in so many ways.

Please let us know the details of the future memorial service.

Tom was my uncle and in fact a mentor and friend. Since his passing, I have felt a deep emptiness that he would not have tolerated. This is because he taught me the absolute power of the absolutely positive and focused mind. I will always miss him but he wouldn't have wanted me to miss him, but rather to take the lessons he taught me and move forward ever stronger and more determined. That will honor his passing and I will do so accordingly. So long Uncle Tom. I hope you are with Aunt Gloria and Fresca. Please try out the hammock, it isn't just for looks.

Your nephew,

Tom was a good friend and will be missed. Gloria and Tom were two of the first friends we made when we moved to Reynolds in 1993. He was always quick with a smile and he made you feel like you were his special friend. You will be remembered fondly, Tom. Thanks for your friendship.

Just found out about Uncle Tom's passing. This man was like an Uncle to me and Gloria was like an Aunt. They were dear friends of my parents and the reason my parents met each other. I have so many wonderful childhood memories of them. They will be truly missed and so thankful that they touched my life. I will cherish all my loving memories of them.
