James Wilmot Prugh, 75, of Buckhead, Georgia, passed away after a long decline from a series of strokes on September 25, 2015. James was born to Ethel Wilmot Prugh and James Prugh in Chicago, Illinois and moved at a young age to Minneapolis, Minnesota.  He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in psychology and history and worked for Centers for Disease Control as a public health advisor specializing in sexually transmitted diseases.  He also trained as a young man in Parris Island and served in the Marine Corps Reserves.  He and his wife Susan were married for forty years and lived in Florida, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Ohio.  Jim retired in 2000 to Buckhead where he and Susan enjoyed their farm.

In addition to his wife, Susan, he leaves a sister Mary (James), in Wisconsin, and a daughter Callie (Brian) in Arkansas and a daughter Elizabeth (Greg) in New York State.  He was very proud of his granddaughter Emma and her fiance Michael Coulter, and his grandson Daniel, all of Arkansas.

James had a dry sense of humor and enjoyed swimming, nature and Clint Eastwood movies.  He relished amazing his wife with his unique dance moves to Motown music.

James enjoyed singing in the choir of his beloved church and requests any memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, P O Box 216, Greensboro, GA 30642, in lieu of flowers.  Special thanks go to friends and staff at Madison Senior Center and Eatonton Health and Rehabilitation Center for their special love and care.

I am sad to hear of Jim's passing. Jim was my supervisor at the Columbus Public Health Dept, during the 1980s. He was a wonderful caring man. I have so many great, happy and funny memories of Jim. My heart smiles when I think of Jim. Love and prayers to Sue, Callie and Lizzie and their family. Joni Finley

Dearest Susan, He loved you so much. We had a nice conversation while you and Cedric were looking at something that needed fixing. He told me "I've had a great life, a beautiful farm and a wife I love dearly. She cooks for me and takes great care of me. What more could I ask for?" I'll miss his quirky sense of humor. He was a very sweet man.

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of our friend and dear choir member! Susan you are in our prayers and thoughts. This is not a "good bye", but a "see you later" and won't it be grand when we can all be together in glory. "What a day of rejoicing that will be....when we all see Jesus, we'll sing and shout the victory"!!!!
Love, Cinda, Randy and Peyton

My deepest sympathies to the family. It is never easy to lose a loved one, My father died a year ago and I still miss him. He said dying is harder on the living than him. i find comfort in a couple of Bible verses one is at Psalms 34:18 where it declares God is close to the broken hearted. Also at Isaiah 25:8 the beautiful words penned here provide us with comfort and hope, where it says death will be swallowed up forever. Again my sympathy,

Sincerely,

Ken Mathews
