I am as devastated by the news of Ben's demise as I have been by any catastrophic event experienced in my lifetime. My prayers are with the family. I treasure the memories of having been so very, very lucky to have returned to my hometown and to have coached Ben his senior year at GCHS. God bless him, Nancy, John, Julian and everyone like me who knew him and certainly are feeling this great loss.

To Ben's Family...We are so sorry for your great loss. We were honored to have Ben be part of our family for seventeen years. He brought his own special brand of love, humor, and sympathy to all and we cherished his loving ways. Ben's humorous anecdotes were precious and we savored his stories. The world has lost a unique individual. Ben will always hold a very special place in our hearts. RIP dear Ben.

My heart aches with sadness and the only comfort I can muster is knowing
that you are in God's hands. God bless you, Nancy, John, Julian, and all other
family members. To say goodbye to a lifetime friend is truly one of the more
difficult challenges I shall face. I remember when you entered first grade.
RIP my dear friend.

Dear Nancy, Julian and John,
We are so sorry that you have lost your brother, Ben. We treasure the memories of him, that, like yours, live on in our hearts.
He was strong in so many ways. His well-thought-out opinions, his hilarious musings on life as a child, and his fanatical love of sports and humorous stories are recalled with smiles and affection.
It is because of Ben that we knew about you all, and got to share in some small part of your lives. May your memories sustain you when you are in pain over his loss.
Much love to you all, Parris and Linda

Our family is devastated by the news of Ben. He was a love of a person. As Nancy Mcgill's niece, he treated me and my girls Lauren and Camille so sweetly. They, too, cried when they heard the news. He will be remembered very fondly.

I got to know Ben when he coached football and baseball at Piedmont Academy in Monticello during the 1991-92 and 1992-93 school years. He took our football program to the state playoffs two years and coached the school to its first baseball state title in 1992 and back to the Final Four in 1993. I always enjoyed working with him. He was a sound coach and great person.
