I had Ms. Freeman in the 5th grade at G'Boro Elementary. She helped 'straighten out' my poor classroom behavior, i.e. chatting with others and I was a much improved student from then onward. She also coached my sister, Virginia Oliver, in G'Boro High Girls basketball.

She had many very positive influences in many, many of Greensboro's youth. May she RIP.

So sorry to hear about your loss. Miss Rachel was such a lovely person, she was so friendly . I loved to tell her what a clean porch she had, every body had pollen everywhere but hers was shinny and clean. She will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear about "Miss Freeman", as we who were lucky enough to have her as a teacher knew her. She was one of the sweetest teachers that I had. It was so nice to be able to wait on her at the BBQ. She never changed. Greene County has lost a true southern lady, and a wonderful teacher who will be greatly missed.

In deepest sympathy,

Carlene Lindsey Noggle

What a wonderful lady - I remember her so well from my 6th grade year. She, and so many of her cohorts, made growing up in Greensboro in the 1960's the very best of times. My sympathies to the family, yet there must be celebration for this lovely life !
