Sara Walker Obituary

Sara Nell Lunceford Walker, age 80, of the Bairdstown Community in Greene County, died Thursday, August 17, 2006 at Athens Regional Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Greene County she was born February 24, 1926 to the late Arthur Webster Lunceford and Sally Drake Lunceford. She graduated from Woodville School. During her working career she was a spinner at Chipman Union in Union Point. She was a member of Bairds Baptist Church and the Women''s Missionary Union.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Elton Walker; a son, Jimmy Walker; and siblings, Dorsey Lunceford, James Lunceford, Elizabeth Finch and Mae Oliver. She is survived by a daughter, Lucretia Walker Barnett and husband Rick of Smyrna, GA; a son, Jerry Walker and wife Julie of Union Point, GA; a brother, Charles Lunceford and wife Earlene of Marietta, GA; a granddaughter, Michelle Barnett of Kennesaw, GA; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Woodville Cemetery with Rev. John McMillian officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday night at the funeral home.
