My heart goes out to you Ellen and the family. My prayers have been with you all thru this long illness but we know that death does not end Jerry's life; it is just a transition into NEW LIFE. Love, your cousin, Patti

Jerry was truly a good friend of the Lake Oconee Community. Lesley and I got to know him throught the Old Salem Volunteer Fire Department. Lesley worked with him as Medical First Responder and I served with him on the Board of Directors for several years, sharing in the responsibilities related to the fire department. The community will miss him. Jim and Lesley Nelms

Jerry was a wonderful co-worker, a straight shooter and hard working man. He never allowed status or job title to get in the way of doing a good job and helping those below him in job title or corporate standing. I was most impressed with Jerry the way he carried on after leaving Cincinnati's home office in the early 1990's and working in Georgia as a B/M representative. The agents and his fellow employees in Georgia were all very impressed with him, his attitude toward work and the way he offered to help his agents and insureds. After retiring, I know he took that same energy to his various endeavors -- always with an eye toward helping others in his church and residence community. Jerry was a very good man. He will be missed, fondly remembered and I am glad to say I knew him.

Saddened to hear of Jerry's death. Jerry hired me in 1990 when he was manager of the Boiler Department. I truly appreciated him. May the Lord Bless Ellen and family.

Mrs. Wisdom and family, My family has Holcomb's Barbeque in Greensboro. Although I did not know your husband very well, I waited on him, Mr. Arthur Lightsey and several others from time to time. He was always very pleasant. When I learned of his illness, I tried to keep up through the Lightsey's and Mr. Howell Cobb. I just wanted you to know that I am thinking of you and your family during this time. Sincerely, Sandra H. Askew

Dear Ellen, I am so sorry for your loss. Jerry was the first EMT on the scene back in 2001 when my mother, Janine Powers, became so ill. He was so kind to Mom and Dad and such a comfort in a very stressful moment. I am so sorry he has been suffering with cancer and I know he will be a great loss to your family and this community. You and your family are in our prayers.
