Mimi, You are in the thoughts and prayers of Cherry, Shelby and me. Gary was a bigger part of our lives than you will ever know. Gary looked for and saw the best in others and made them feel special. People talk about Gary's ability to tell a story, which he certainly could; I found his ability to listen and pay attention to the stories and problems of other even more compelling. I may not be able to be with you at the services, but my heart and soul will be standing next to you and Gary. From this day forward when I hear what others think is thunder coming from the sky I will know it is that gigantic, outrageeous, beautiful laugh of Gary's letting us know that somehow he talked his way into heaven. God bless you and the family. Barry B. White

Beth -- very sorry to hear this news. In the only time I spent with your dad, he impressed me as a guy who makes all around him happy. There are few greater talents than that. My prayers are with you and your family.

I was saddened to read of Gary's passing this morning. We enjoyed many good times together when we lived at Eastbrooke in Jackson. I can remember one fishing trip we went on and were caught in a storm out in the Gulf. I thought that was going to be the end of us. Please accept my sincere condolences, especially to Beth.

Gary and I were good friends when he was at Forest Hill in the late 50's. As I remember, we had met through the 4-H club of Hinds County and although I was a year ahead of him in school, we became friends and spent time playing together. I remember him as a great friend then and from the obituary and the above comments, he was a friend to many. I remember him as he appears in my annual when he was in the 9th grade.

Mimi & family, The service for Gary was fabulous and he would have loved it! Even this clean version! Bob and your daughter did a beautiful job of describing Gary and it was very touching that they as well as the crying folks at the service loved Gary and will miss him very much. Not as much as you I'm sure. We know your girls and friends will take care of you, but if you need anything, please give us a call.

Wow I can't believe the news. I have often thought about the funny things he would say to me when I called for information. I met him while employed at Greenhalgh & Co. CPA's. He always had a funny story and over the years we developed a great working relationship. Out of all the clients that came through the doors there I have to say he was one of my favorites. He always seemed to make me laugh no matter how busy and stressed I was. He even told my boss one day he would like to hire me to do work for him since I was like a bulldog when needing information and sweet when receiving it. I will always remember his laugh. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks ahead. Mimi you are a wonderful lady with many friends don't be afraid to ask them for help or a shoulder to lean on in the hard times. In Christian Love, Lynn and family
