Josephine Heath Holland Stewart, age 84, of Jackson Mississippi, formerly of Greensboro, Georgia, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at her son''s residence in Mississippi. Born in Marshall County, Kentucky on January 7, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Charles Raymond Holland and Josie Heath Holland. She grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas and graduated from Little Rock High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, pet dog, Prince, and playing bridge with her friends. Miss Jo was devoted to her church, First Baptist Church of Greensboro, where she taught the Children''s I and II Department for forty-nine years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Talmadge Stewart Jr. in July of 2001; she is survived by three sons, who are in the ministry, Rev. Dr. James H. Stewart of Jackson, MS, Rev. Dr. Charles A. Stewart of Ft. Worth, TX and Rev. A. T. Stewart III of Powder Springs, GA; a sister, Deese Holland Askew of Orlando, FL; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at 11:00 a. m. at the First Baptist Church of Greensboro with Rev. Michael Hardy and Rev. Dr. Norman Waldrip officiating. Interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are James Holland Stewart Jr., Jesse Stewart, Joshua Stewart, Billy McCommons, David Torbert, Lamar Callaway, Dan Jones and Stewart Adams. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home. The family requests that any memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, 203 S. Main Street, Greensboro, GA 30642. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad St., Greensboro, GA, (706) 453-2626, is in charge of arrangements. To the family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ms. Jo, I work with EMS here and had taken her to Athens Regional just a few months ago. I also worked in her yard cutting brush and her flowers, she loved her yard. I will keep you in my prayers. David Ashley

My sincere condolences to a family that will always be dear to my heart for so many fond memories made possible by "Mr. Stewart" and "Miss Stewart" and Jimmy and Charles and Arthur. They gave of themselves and made growing up in Greensboro really special.
