I was so lucky to have met Heather on my first day of volunteering at Driving Magic. Her presence and the joy of what we shared affected me so deeply that I wrote this poem that night: Heather, Yesterday What a thing, at the end of life, such a short life, To be looking between a horse's ears, Watching its hips sway; To hear the creak of a wagon, And feel the rocking rig - against a backdrop of blue, On a plain of hay stubble, With the wind buffeting your skin. -Anne De Angelis November, 2011
