We are deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of Don ''Paul'' Hinspeter, age 57, of Greensboro, GA on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at his home on Lake Oconee. The loving husband of Kathryn, and father of Clayton and Autumn, he will be forever loved and cherished in their hearts.

Paul was born at Fort Meade, Maryland on October 12, 1955 and was the son of the late Mary Lou and Don Hinspeter. His father was in the Army and took Paul to Germany where he spent his first two years. Upon returning to the States, they settled on the family farm in Frankfort, Illinois which Paul grew to love dearly. He attended the Hinspeter School for six years which was a one-room schoolhouse near their farm. He spent his youth enjoying ''farm life'', participating in 4H activities, teaching Sunday School, and playing softball where he was counted on for his long distance hitting. Paul graduated from Lincoln Way High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor''s degree from Illinois State University.

He started a career in Atlanta in the Plastics and Extrusion industry in sales. He was employed with Pactiv as Vice President of Sales where he was well-known industry-wide for his work ethic, integrity and ability. This was recognized by the numerous awards he received for his accomplishments within this field.

He met Mary Kathryn Edwards who he referred to as the ''love of my life'' and they were married on October 4, 1998 on St. Simons Island, Georgia at Lovely Lane Chapel. Their married life began in Allentown, Pennsylvania where they lived for four years before moving to Lake Oconee where he enjoyed maintaining his ''perfect'' landscape, riding four wheelers with Clayton, fishing with Autumn, and boating with family and friends on the lake. He also loved to hike the Georgia mountains. He supported his favorite baseball teams, the Atlanta Braves and the Chicago Cubs, and cheered on ''the Bears''. Paul was a member of the First United Methodist Church South Campus of Greensboro.

In addition to his wife, Kathryn of Greensboro, GA, survivors include his children Clayton Paul and Autumn Kathryn; siblings, Tom Hinspeter (Carol) and Cindy H. Wiewiora (Fred); and his beloved dogs, Rembrandt and T.C. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Hinspeter.

His Celebration of Life will be held Monday, August 5, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, South Campus, 4741 Carey Station Road, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Mike Morgan and Rev. Richard Chewning officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. prior to the service on Monday at First United Methodist Church South Campus. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the college funds for Clayton and Autumn. I will miss Paul. Being a couple of years older than me, I admired him growing up. He was a big strong guy with a great personality and work ethic. We loved teasing each other about the Cubs & White Sox. Since I learned of his passing, I can only think of all the fun family events that we had down on the farm. I didn't realize it at the time but those were the "good old days". God speed Paul - Kurt

Kathy, Clayton, & Autumn - Your husband/father was such a great friend to me & I know from our many conversations that he loved you more than anything & was truly living his dream. Over the years, many of us called him the 'gentle giant' & reflecting on his passing, I can say that I learned so many life lessons from Paul; his humility, integrity, love, & absolute selfless one could have had a better friend than Paul! I can't express how much I'll miss him and consider myself so blessed to have been a part of his life. His legacy will live on, through you, and I pray that God will lift you up through this difficult time. Please know that our love & heartfelt prayers go out to you all.
