William Roy Henson, age 56, of Greensboro, GA, died Sunday, May 4, 2008 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Greene County he was born on April 12, 1952 to the late Wilburn D. Henson and Mindie Louise Branch Henson. He attended Greensboro High School. Roy was a carpenter and roofer, but was a jack of all trades and was welled liked by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by a daughter, Betty Wimbish of Eatonton, GA; a son, Michael Greer of Greensboro, GA; four sisters, Doris Hardigree of Macon, GA, Kathryn Howell of Madison, GA, Hazel Southerland of Perry, GA and Mary Jim Haley of Lake Oconee, GA; two brothers, A. M. Henson of Buckhead, GA and Kirk Henson of Ft. Valley, GA, three granddaughters, Faith, Brianna and Alliyah all of Eatonton, GA; two aunts, Laburcha Henson of Greensboro, GA and Betty Henson of Madison, GA; an uncle, James Willie Branch of Greshamville and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Swords Methodist Church Cemetery in Buckhead, GA with Rev. Eddie Shumake officiating. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad St., Greensboro, GA, (706) 453-2626, is in charge of arrangements. My prayers are with you all. I don't have to tell you what Roy meant to me. He was in our family before he married into our family and remained part of our family even later. Our mom sure loved Roy! We all did and do! He certainly left a lot of memories behind. I wish that I could be there but just know my heart is there with you all. Roy, you will always be in my heart.

My condolences to all his family. He was a friend to all the Adkins brothers ( Mike, Eddie & Robby ). Its been a long time since we have seen him, but we will never forget Roy. May God take you into his arms for eternal life and happiness with all the others that has went before you.

Dear family, My sincere condolences to the family. Doris and Kathryn were friends of mine in Greshamville as well as schoolmates when we were growing up. I am so sorry to hear of your brother's untimely death. May God bless each and everyone of you and be with you in a very special way during this sad time.

I know Uncle Roy is with my dad (Billy Ray Young-Kinky), Uncle Mike and Roger just laughing and having a blast about old times.He will also be remembered and loved by many. Thinking of you Uncle Roy!

We all had some good times when we lived in Georgia. I will miss Roy and I hope he is keeping Ray (Kinky)laughing and in line.

I WAS SO SORRY TO HEAR OF ROYS DEATH.I KNEW HIM FROM WAYYY BACK. HE AND MY ROY [VAUGHTERS]WERE GOOD BUDDIES.ROY WOULD COME OVER WHEN WE COOKED OUT AND PARTY WITH US.AS YOU ALL KNOW I LOST MY ROY NOV.1 LAST YEAR.ROY H. WAS SO GOOD TO HELP ROY V.
