Cathy and Red lived in Lakeland, Frostproof and Tallahassee, FL before moving overseas in 1961 where they served in the Diplomatic Corps with the United States Agency for International Development, spending 4 years in Khartoum, Sudan and Accra, Ghana. Upon their return, the family lived in Maitland, FL and Atlanta, GA, where Cathy served as an Adult Literacy volunteer and a teacher''s aide working with physically challenged children in the DeKalb County school system. After retiring, they moved to Eatonton, GA where she especially enjoyed the beautiful sunrises over Lake Oconee and hosting family and friends. Cathy was a member of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church. Her son, William Barry Heinen in 1953 and son-in-law, James Raymond Tindall, MD in 1999, preceded her in death.

A memorial mass will be held Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church in Greensboro, GA with Father G. Philip Ryan officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the Sacred Heart Social Hall. The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in memory of Catherine L.
