Shirley Ann Wagnon Hardy of Union Point, Georgia, died on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at the age of 72. A lifelong resident of Greene County, Shirley was born in Union Point on January 3, 1941, the daughter of the late Fred E. Wagnon and Lola Mae Underwood Wagnon. She attended Greensboro High School and was a homemaker. Shirley enjoyed going to movies, reading, talking daily to her friends and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Lucas. She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church.

Shirley is survived by a daughter, Cindy Moore and husband Larry of Greensboro, GA; brother, Wayne Wagnon and wife Estelle of Decatur, AL; a grandson, Lucas Moore; several other relatives and many, many friends.

Graveside Services will be held Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Bethany Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 2999 Bethany Church Road, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Reggie Haslett officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Jimmy Walker, Robert Simpson, Barry Walker, Ricky Newsom, Marvin Bell and Gene Coleman. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until time for the service at Bethany Presbyterian Church. The family requests that any donations may be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church, c/o Dixie Webb, 3061 Siloam Veazey Road, Greensboro, GA 30642 or Nathanael Greene Academy, 4731 Hwy 15 South, P. O. Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family. Shirley has been a friend of ours for years, she was a sweet person a lots of fun to be with. She was blessed to have a daughter like Cindy and her family. Praying for you all.

To Shirley's family. I was so saddened to hear that Shirley had passed away. She was one of my favorite people when we were in high school. And when we'd meet again at a re-union or something else, it was like we just picked up where we left off.. Gold bless you all. Know that others are thinking of you during this ordeal..

Cindy and family, so sorry to hear of your loss. Shirley was always a pleasure to talk with and I have missed seeing her at FBC. I know her last days were tough and she is now in her heavenly home. Dear Cindy and Family, My Prayer and Sympathy are extend-ed to you in the Pssing of Shirley. She and I are Friend's from Class Mate's in School Day's back in Greensboro and since that time when we would see one another. Especially,I remember visiting and talking with Her as she so faithfully rendered Loving Care To Her Mother at Boswell Parker back when My Brother was there.
