I am so sorry to hear of Roberts passing. I so deeply sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I will always have a special place in my heart for Robert. I will cherish the memories that I shared with Robert as he sung, "Blue suede shoes and hound dog" by Elvis in his own special way. With deepest sympathy, Paige Hubbard

10-21-12 I'm sitting here today at my kitchen table in South Alabama. When I read about Robert a little while ago (yes, on facebook), I walked upstairs to my office/mancave. Hanging on my wall, I still have a little ceramic monster head that Robert made in 1975 in Miss Dubie's art class. I had thought it was cool, and Robert just said, "keep it." I first met Robert in 1970 in Union Point in the 7th grade. Robert had soft bones in his youth and, at that time, was in leg braces and a wheel chair, and therefore usually chose to sit inside the classroom during recesses. I had always liked to draw and had thought that I had talent . . . until one day, I noticed Robert doodling on notebook paper. I was amazed. He could take a few swiftly drawn lines and make the prettiest girl faces with pouty lips and perfect noses . . . . and the monster faces he drew were soooo cool and bizarre, like creatures right out of the Twilight Zone. I was so impressed with his art and imagination, that I would skip recesses and sit inside with him and draw (truthfully, I was taking lessons). Robert had a good sense of humor, and we became good buds. In high school, Robert was one of our circle of teenage clowns. We had fun adventures, and everybody liked Robert. He was a good guy. I remember him and I miss him. - Kenneth Ray
