Mrs. Durham was one of my mother's classmates at A& M. They were still friends. My mother (Sadie Porter)is now in an assisted living home here in Madison where she has received many wonderful letters from Mrs. Durham. My mother was 97 on March 14. I will see if she is able to attend the graveside services. She always spoke fondly of Mrs. Durham. The last time we visited there she insisted that her daughter give us some canned goods. My mother will be sad to hear of her death. Irene Porter Paul

My sympathy goes out to the family. I know that Ms. Miriam's health has not been good for a while but she never let that stop her from visiting with others in the Church and Community over the phone. She was truly an inspiration and a Christian witness to anyone whose path she crossed. I have fond memories of visits to her home as a child. She was loved dearly and will be missed greatly. I shall keep Melba, Melvin, Carol, and Douglas and the rest of the family in my prayers. In Christian Love,

Melba, Melvin and Carroll, I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I have thought about her a lot in the last few weeks. I found a letter she wrote to me when my mother-in-law passed away in 1974. I have read that letter so many times over the the years. Miss Miriam was a good woman and I know she will be missed a lot.
