Corry Marion Copelan, III, age 58, of the Greshamville Community, died on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at St. Mary''s Hospital in Athens, Georgia. A lifelong resident of Greene County, he was born June 2, 1955, the son of Corry Marion "C. M." Copelan, Jr. and Eloise Malcom Copelan. He attended school in Greene and Morgan County. Corry was owner and operator of Corry Construction and Copelan Farms. He married Susan Ruark of Woodville on January 2, 1983. He was a member of Fork Chapel United Methodist Church and a member of the Greshamville Fire Department. The things he enjoyed most were helping others, doing construction work, fishing, hunting, wagon trains, motor cycle riding and especially being with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Ruark Copelan of Greshamville; a daughter, Hannah Louise Copelan; a son C. M. Copelan; stepdaughter, Kim Beal Patterson; a sister, Judy Copelan Frost; two grandchildren, Charles Marion Copelan and Chloe Madison Copelan; step grandchild, Cody Patterson; a number of other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Mason Gavin Gregory.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Fork Chapel United Methodist Church, 1401 Farmington Road, Madison, GA 30650 with Rev. Guy Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Greensboro City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642. Serving as pallbearers are Dakota Ballard, Tim Sims, Jackie Copelan, Tim Duvall, Herbie Thurmond, Herbie Daniels and James Copelan. Wynn Copelan will serve as an honorary pallbearer.The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Dear Susan, I am sorry for your loss. Corry and I played together as children living on the same street. Then, as teen-agers, we were close friends for a few years. I lost touch with him in the 1970s but I remember him as one of the nicest of friends who was fun to be with. I will never forget his smile.

You have our deepest sympathy, Corry will be missed by all that knew him. He had away of making you feel like he saw you everyday even if you only saw him once a year at the family reunion. We don't know why Good as taken someone from us and we will never know why. All we can so now is hold on to the memories of the time God did let us have them here on earth. I remember all the Family Reunions Corry was always there helping with his little side kick following every step his Dad made. Will be missed so many people.
