Zadelle Edmonds Chappell, age 92, of Greensboro, GA, died Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at her home. A lifelong resident of Greene County she was born on February 9, 1916 to the late Escoe Edmonds and Donie Mize Edmonds. Mrs. Chappell attended Greensboro Schools. She was a seamstress for Lena Hy Garment Company and also a homemaker who loved to cook cakes and candy and enjoyed making crafts. She was a member of West End Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leroy "Roy" Chappell in April of 1985; siblings, Roy Edmonds, Bige Edmonds, Frank Massey, Emma Newton, Ebbie Moore, Etta Belle Burnette and Leo Taylor. She is survived by two sons, Charles Chappell of Greensboro, GA and Harold Chappell and wife Billie of Byron, GA; grandchildren, Jason Chappell and wife Kelly of Warner Robins, GA and Judy Wellman and husband Rob of Byron, GA; great grandchildren, Katelyn Chappell and Cody Chappell; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Wayne Usry officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Doug Askew, Kenny Silvey, Larry Cannon, Jackie Newton, Robby Jones and Nelson Massey.
