Sylvia (Elena) Blankenship Gaidowski, age 51, of Chipley, Florida, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Bay Medical Center Sacred Heart in Panama City, Florida. Sylvia was born in San Francisco, California on June 11, 1965, one of eight children of Robert Darrell Blankenship, Sr. of White Plains, Georgia and the late Ana Sylvia Blankenship.  She was a graduate of North Stafford High School in Stafford, Virginia.  Sylvia successfully managed a  retail store for Texaco, Inc. until she became disabled. She enjoyed collecting antiques, dolls, and clocks. Sylvia was a very joyful person that loved Randy and her daughters very much.   
 
In addition to her father, Robert Blankenship and his wife Carolyn of White Plains, Georgia,  she is survived by her fiancé, Randy Howling of Chipley, Florida; two daughters, CloAna (fiancé Clayton) Street of Chipley, Florida and Celina Gaidowski of Virginia; three sisters, Ivonne Studds of Huntsville, Alabama, Carmen Blankenship of White Plains, Georgia and Chloe Haidet (Doug) of Marietta, Georgia; three brothers, Joe Blankenship (Jennifer) of Hartselle, Alabama, Luis Blankenship (Christina) of Huntsville, Alabama and Robert Blankenship, Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her mother Ana Sylvia Blankenship and a brother, James Anthony Blankenship.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at McCommons Chapel, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Craig Foster officiating. Interment will follow in the White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, 1020 Main Street W, White Plains, GA 30678.  Serving as pallbearers are Douglas Haidet, Joe Blankenship, Bobby Blankenship, Luis Blankenship, Daniel Blankenship, Kevin Blankenship and Ryan Studds.  The family will receive friends Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
