Sadye June Moore Corry, age 61, of Siloam, GA died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. A lifelong resident of Greene County she was born March 28, 1946 in Washington County, GA, the daughter of the late Homer Isaac Moore and Sadye Stapleton Moore. She attended grammar school in White Plains and Siloam and graduated from Greensboro High School with the Class of 1964 and Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville. For a number of years Sadye June worked for The Farmers Bank in Union Point. After that she worked for both Dr. Bill Rhodes and Dr. Dave Ringer. She was a member of Siloam Methodist Church and also attended White Plains Baptist Church and Greensboro First United Methodist Church. At the First United Methodist Church in Greensboro she taught the Childrens Sunday School Class and co-led the Beth Moore Bible Study Classes. Sadye June was talented in many ways but she was very artistic and loved to paint. Sadye June had a friendly personality and pleasing smile. She enjoyed life and brought happiness to her loved ones and many friends.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Corry of Siloam, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Georgia and Phillip Harkins of Siloam, GA; two grandchildren who affectionately called her "Ahma", Madison Gabrielle Harkins and Ethan Corry Harkins of Siloam, GA; sister, Nancy Chapman and husband Bill of Watkinsville, GA; brother, Ike Moore and wife Donna of White Plains, GA; nieces, Rachel Ortlauf and husband Mike of Newnan, GA and Lendy Chapman of Orlando, FL; nephew, Isaac Moore of White Plains, GA; great-nephew, Ethan Ortlauf; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Greensboro with Rev. Gary Nicholas, Rev. Richard Chewning and Rev. Jason Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the Siloam Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Billy Copelan, Hot Boswell, Roger Webb, Bert Jacobs, Robbie Chapman, Richard Marshall, Roy Otis Ashley and Charles Copelan. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday night at the funeral home. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, Georgia Chapter, P. O.
