Robert Edwards Obituary

Robert Ernest Edwards, age 80, of Greensboro, Georgia, died Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital. He was born in Hancock County on October 24, 1923 and attended school in Milledgeville as a child. While he was in the Navy, he served in the Sea Bees in Guam. He was a retired Mill Wright from Edwards Lumber Company in Sparta, GA and was of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary A. Edwards of Greensboro, GA; a daughter, Myra Ann Jones and husband Wiley of Greensboro, Georgia; a son, Kenneth Edwards of Greensboro, GA; two grandchildren, Clay Jones of Athens, GA and Amanda Jones Scott and husband Tommy of Raleigh, NC. Graveside Services will be held Friday, November 14, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Edwards Family Cemetery behind their home with Rev. Robert Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
