Peggy Ivie Harris
Peggy Ivie Harris, age 81, of Greensboro, GA passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Boswell Parker Health & Rehabilitation in Greensboro. Born in Greensboro, GA on November 15, 1936, she was the daughter of the late William Britt Ivie, Sr. and Clarice O’Neal Ivie. She graduated from Greensboro High School in 1954. After high school she worked as a nurse’s aid at Minnie G. Boswell Hospital. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greensboro. Her joy was taking care of animals especially her cats and dogs. Peggy also enjoyed cooking and reading.
Survivors include her sons, Patrick Bullard Harris of Athens, GA, Charles Julian “Snick” Harris, Jr. of Siloam, GA and Joe Nalley (Kimberly) of Lakeland, FL; a daughter, Karla Rose Thurmond of Canon City, CO; brother, Bobby Ivie (Corky) of Austin, TX; six grandchildren, Courtney Nalley Johnson (Mike), Kendall Marie Nalley, Jordan Britt Harris, Kristina Ivie Goode, Rose Mary Casias and Michael James Crownover; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dolly Ivie James and Elisa Ivie Channell and a brother, William B. Ivie, Jr.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Hugh Hendrickson officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Siloam Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at McCommons Funeral Home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
