Mildred Warlick Merritt, age 104, died on Saturday, February 21, 2009, in Madison, Florida.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, February 26, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home Chapel in Greensboro, Georgia. Burial will follow in Greensboro City Cemetery, Greensboro, Georgia.

Contributions in Mrs. Merritt''s honor may be made to Druid Hills United Methodist Church, 1200 Ponce de Leon Avenue NE, Atlanta, Georgia 33307.

She was born on November 18, 1904, in Americus, Georgia, the daughter of the late Samuel Eugene Warlick and Hattie McAfee Warlick. She attended Girls High in 1922 and Oglethorpe University. She was a secretary for a retail credit company for 5 years. She was a member of the Druid Hills United Methodist Church, Atlanta, Georgia and the Agape Circle United Methodist Woman, Charitee''s Club, Atlanta, Druid Hills Garden Club and Atlanta Athletic Club. She moved to Madison 10 years ago to be near her family.

She is survived by a son, Edward F. Merritt, Jr. and wife Sara of Jasper, Georgia; a daughter, Mary Jane Beggs and husband Tommy of Madison, Florida; 6 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward F. Merritt, Sr.
