Mary Ann Dodd, age 80, of Greensboro, GA, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016 at Greene Point Health and Rehabilitation.  She was born on February 11, 1935 in Cleveland, OH to the late Guy Shively and Margaret Kleiner Shively.  Mary Ann earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the Ohio State University.  She married John Carroll Dodd, Jr. in 1957.  She began her teaching career in the Lakewood City Schools as a substitute teacher in 1963.

She taught business education for the Lakewood City Schools, eventually becoming the Department Chair during the 1989 school year. After retiring, Mary Ann and her husband moved to Greensboro in 1995 to live on Lake Oconee where she became an active supporter of the Old Salem Fire Dept.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Carroll Dodd, Jr in August of 2008.  She is survived by two sons, John Carroll Dodd, III (Lori Dodd) of Westport, CT and Thomas Guy Dodd  (Kimberly Weems) of Saranac, NY; daughter, Margaret Ann Dodd of Santa Fe, NM; grandchildren, Sophie Dodd, Reilly Dodd, Caroline Dodd, Hannah Hays, Stephanie Dodd, John Dodd, and great grand child, Delilah Hays; a number of other relatives and many friends.

Mass will be held in her honor 9am on March 13 at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Father Roberto Herrera officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Mary Ann Dodd to Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church.
