Maedelle Bramlett Channell, age 90, of Greensboro, Georgia died Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at Greene Point Health Care Center in Union Point, GA. One of twelve children she was born in Madison County, Georgia on January 21, 1913, to the late Franklin Lafayette Bramlett and Alza Victoria Hollifield Bramlett. She attended Sibley School, was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro. She taught Sunday School in the Primary Department, was a member of the Fidellis Sunday School Class, Goldentones, Meadowcrest Homemakers Club, AARP, Eastern Star and a GA''s Leader.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda C. Duvall and husband Bobby of Greensboro, GA and Nancy C. Godbee of Greensboro, GA; a son, Frank Don Channell and wife Shirley of Greensboro, GA; a sister, Maude DeLoach of Oakridge, NC; four grandchildren, Robby Duvall of Greensboro, GA, Donna Wood and husband Heath of Greensboro, GA, Darren Godbee of Atlanta, GA and Matt Godbee and wife Nicole of Oxford, GA; four great-grandchildren, Benjamin Wood, Eli Wood, Caleb Wood and Macy Godbee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eber Donnez Channell, in August of 1998; and her sisters and brothers, Metter Cagle, Mable Rice, Myrtle Adams, Merle Johnson, Tolbert Bramlett, Corbet Bramlett, Reuben Bramlett, Frank Bramlett and Charles Bramlett.
Graveside services will be held Friday, January 16, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Siloam Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy A. Long officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Robby Duvall, Matt Godbee, Darren Godbee, Charles Copelan, Arthur Ott, Mel Marchman Jr., Dr. Bill Galloway, Melvin Johnson, Heath Wood, Dewitt Bramlett and Tim Bramlett. The family requests that any memorials be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 672648, Marietta, GA 30006 or the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605.
