Linda Sue Frericks Lane

Linda Sue Frericks Lane, age 69, of Greensboro, Georgia died on Friday, October 3, 2014, at Gentiva Hospice in Athens, GA.  Linda was born July 29, 1945 in Gilman, Illinois to  Theodore Ray Frericks and Dorothy Evelyn White Frericks.  Linda graduated from Gilman High School.  She married Elmer Joe Lane on June 17, 1961 in Illinois and they had celebrated their fifty-first anniversary when he passed away in August of 2012.  Most of her working career was spent with Chipman Union in Union Point as a knitter.  Linda enjoyed playing cards, collecting Barbie dolls and visiting flea markets.  She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be missed very much.

In addition to her husband, Elmer Joe Lane, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dwayne Hill Frericks and a sister, Becky Frericks.  She is survived by sons, Robert J. Lane and Debra of Athens, GA and Joshua Kent Stephens of Sandersville, GA; daughters, Rhonda Kaye Mann and Chris of Greensboro, GA, Treasa Ann Stephens of Union Point, GA and Angela Marie Stephens of Union Point, GA; brother, David Frericks (Lisa); sister, Connie Hasker (Dean); 22 grandchildren, including Daniel Clements (Brandi) and Adam Clements; 17 great grand children, including Aubree Kaye Clements, Mackenzie Clements and Faith Stephens; and many other relatives and friends.  

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at the family’s residence, 1010 Cato Road, Greensboro, Georgia along with Pastor Jimmy Long.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
